Duck & Cover was created by Jim Lockey and Katy Norton whilst we were at university. We printed 200 copies the very first issue in January 2009 on that university's photocopiers using staff codes while no one was looking.

The magazine is distributed for free by post and from a number of stockists around Kent. And also available online on this website. In its short history Duck & Cover has struggled to remain free but we believe strongly that it should be a democratic resource for artists. The purpose of Duck & Cover is to promote discussion around our themes and to showcase responses from a variety of disciplines.Essentially we just want to add to the debate. Essentially it is a tool for anyone to add to the discussion of contemporary art.

Duck & Cover features the work of writers, performers, photographers, illustrators, filmmakers and fine artists to provide the reader with a spectrum of ways of interpreting and expressing ideas.

Duck & Cover is recieved well by a growing audience and continues to expand exponentially.

We thank you for your support
